Learning from the lessons of the severe gasoline shortages in the East Coast following Hurricane Sandy, the U.S. Dept of Energy now has a 500,000 barrel gasoline reserve (not to be confused with the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve) in New York and New England to keep those emergency vehicles running. Not a bad thing =) http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2014-05-03/the-u-dot-s-dot-now-has-a-strategic-gasoline-reserve-dot-its-about-time

UFOs, ancient druids and conspiracy theories, step aside! Scientists have solved a perplexing question on how the ancient Egyptians were able to move such large bolders into place to create the great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. Taking cues from an ancient hieroglyph that shows a Pharoah being pulled by construction workers, researchers have confirmed, *pouring water* ahead of the moving giant boulders, kept the sand in place, helping to move the huge stones in place! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/05/02/ancient-egyptians-pyramid-stones-video_n_5248092.html

Exciting times indeed! Space scientists have now added the Jovian moon Ganamede to a growing list of inner solar system celestial bodies that may harbor sub-surface liquid water. It now joins the ranks of Europa and Callisto (also orbiting Jupiter), Titan and Enceladus orbiting Saturn, and the dwarf planet Ceres as candidates where sub surface liquid water seems a distinct possibility. http://news.yahoo.com/jupiters-moon-ganymede-may-club-sandwich-layers-ocean-210528505.html
